10-Day of Big Five and wildlife safari in Tanzania

Day 1:  Arrive Arusha

Upon arrival in the airport, you will have to take care of some immigration formalities. You will be met by an African Paradise Safaris representative. After you are cleared of immigration, you will be transferred to the city hotel. Overnight is at Kibo palace hotel.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Have your morning breakfast at the lodge, later depart to Tarangire with enroute game drive at Lake Manyara Park. Upon arrival in the park, you will have an enroute game drive heading to the lodge. You can check in and have your lunch at leisure. Later in the evening, have an afternoon game drive. The park's dominant feature is the Tarangire River. Although it gets very dry, the park is relatively thick with vegetation like acacia shrubs and mixed woodlands. The most memorable of which are the huge baobab trees dotted around in big numbers. Herds of up to 300 elephants can be found here looking for underground streams in the dry riverbeds while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest, and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. Dry-country antelope such as fringe-eared Oryx and the long-necked gerenuk are also regularly spotted. Abandoned termite –mounds often house mongoose colonies. All meals and overnight are at Burunge tented camp.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park

Spend the whole day at leisure with 2 extended game viewing drives searching for the plains game leaving in this park almost undisturbed. Wildlife here includes: gravy zebra, elephants, eland, bush pig, waterbuck, cheetah, leopard, reticulated giraffe, hippopotamus, Bohor Reedbuck, hartebeest, python, Puff Udder, cobra, buffalo, more than 427 recorded species of birds. All meals and overnight are at Burunge  tented camp.

Day 4: Tarangire to Ngorongoro Conservancy

Today you will wake up very early to do an early morning safari before breakfast. You can spot the animals when they are more active and also to have a fantastic sun rise in front of you. The sunrise in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast. Later you will depart to Ngorongoro and you will arrive late in time for late lunch. You will have an enroute game drive heading to the lodge. Enjoy your dinner at leisure. All meals and overnight will be at Rhino lodge.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservancy

Your will have breakfast at the lodge. Explore the conservancy with morning and afternoon game drives and visit the crater. With walls 2,000 ft high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq. miles, the crater is a virtual Noah's Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that from the top looks like steam, plenty of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusks, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. They are the most incredible elephants you'll ever see in your life. All meals and overnight at Rhino lodge.

Day 6: Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park

You will have an early morning game drive to catch up with animals you missed the previous day. Return to the lodge for your breakfast, and then after breakfast to Serengeti National Park, where you will arrive in time for lunch. Later enjoy an evening game drive in the park. Return to the lodge for leisure and dinner. Tanzania's Serengeti offers superb game-viewing even out of migration time, when vast herds of buffalo, eland, topi, waterbuck, impala, kongoni, and Grant’s gazelle can be seen grazing in the thousands. The Serengeti is famous not only for its migrating wildebeest and herbivores but also for its high concentration of big cats and other predators that these grazers attract. The Serengeti is also home to smaller cats, such as the caracal and serval, as well as jackal, fox, mongoose and genet. Visit Maasai villages in the afternoon. All meals and overnight at Kati kati tented camp.

Day 7-8: Serengeti National Park

Have a full day of exploration of the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. After breakfast, leave your lodge with a packaged lunch (or have lunch at the lodge), have game drive in the park, and arrive back at your lodge in late afternoon or on your request. All meals and overnight at Kati kati tented camp.

Day 9: Serengeti to Lake Manyara National Park

You will have breakfast at the lodge and later depart for Lake Manyara. We will arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch we head into the an afternoon game drive. This impressive park is one of Tanzania's most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake at the foot of the Great Rift Valley's western escarpment. The park's varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa's largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara's famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. All meals and overnight at  Farrm House Valley Lodge.

Day 10: Farewell Depart

Enjoy your breakfast at leisure. Drive to Arusha where you will be transferred to the airport for your home flight. Bring to an end of Tanzania great migration safari.
